Letizia Mortara is a Research Associate at the Centre for Technology Management at the Institute of Manufacturing, University of Cambridge (UK). Her current research interests include open innovation and technology intelligence. She has a Degree in Industrial Chemistry gained at the University of Bologna in Italy. After spending three years working as a Process/Product Manager in a chemical industry, she moved to the UK where she gained her PhD in Processing and Process Scale-up of Advanced Ceramic Materials at Cranfield University.

- An ongoing project investigating the role of intermediaries in technology intelligence and open innovation which aims to understand how companies can organise their social networks and the role of third parties in helping them to increase their TI and OI efficiency
- Technology acquisition and protection: to investigate how firms can manage successfully the technology transactions (i.e. acquire or sell) new technologies. The project aims to develop guidelines for technology acquisition and protection and will focus in particular on early stage technologies where the need to protect intellectual property while identifying routes to commercial exploitation is paramount.
