John Rice is Academic Director (Research Development) at the University of Adelaide Business School. His research has focused on the internal characteristics of successful open innovators, and open innovation in transition and emerging economies. He has published in the International Journal of Technology Management, Technovation, the International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Asia Pacific Business Review, Economic Modelling and many other refereed journals. John's (and his Adelaide colleagues') interests in open innovation includes analysis of the internal characteristics of successful open innovators, the appropriation regimes employed by open innovators, and how open innovation is different in emerging and transition economies, especially in China and Eastern Europe
