    Myriam Cloodt obtained a masters degree in business economics from Maastricht University. In 2005 she received her PhD degree at the same university by studying the effect of mergers and acquisitions on the innovative performance of high-tech companies. After working at Maastricht University as subsequently lecturer, study counselor and doctoral candidate, she is currently employed as an assistant professor in the field of entrepreneurship & strategy, within the department of Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing (ITEM) of the School of Industrial Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research interests mainly include open innovation, strategic technology alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate entrepreneurship. Her work has been published in Research Policy, Business History Review, and International Studies of Management and Organization. Together with Wim Vanhaverbeke she wrote the chapter Open innovation in value networks, in: Chesbrough, H., Vanhaverbeke, W. and J. West (eds.), Open Innovation: Researching a New Paradigm, Oxford University Press, 2006.
